We are a boutique distillery, producing premium quality spirits using time honoured techniques and traditional copper pot stills. All of our spirits are produced by hand in small batches. While our mission is to produce premium Single Malt Whisky, we also produce some other premium quality spirits - Vodka, Gin, Grappe and Brandy. With all of our products... our focus is on quality - quantity is irrelevant.

Our Location
 Albany - Distillery & Head Office
Our Head office is located in the beautiful and historical Port City of Albany. Our distillery, cellar door sales, coffee lounge, gallery and visitors' centre is at 252 Frenchman Bay Road, on the very edge of Princess Royal Harbour. Visitors have the opportunity to learn a little of the history of Whisky distillation, see the process in operation, and finally sample and purchase the finished product - just one more reason to visit our pristine, beautiful corner of the world.
 Margaret River Distilling Company
Margaret River Distilling Company is a partnership with The Grove Vineyard in Margaret River. This globally renowned premium wine region was a natural choice for a location for our subsidiary operations: the Margaret River Distilling Company . The Grove Vineyard is also home to the Liqueur Factory and Yahava Coffee Roasters. The Grove's reputation for excellent customer service, and high quality products is the perfect spot for our Margaret River operations. We have recently installed a 4,500 L antique French Brandy Still and you can now see this still on location when you visit The Margaret River Distilling Company.
 The Equipment
By world standards we are a tiny operation... which is the way we like it.
Our 2 Whisky Stills, an 1,800 litre Wash Still and a 580 litre Whisky Spirit Still, are in operation in our Albany distillery. Our Whisky Stills are traditional Whisky Copper Pot Stills and were custom made in Hobart, Tasmania, by Australian Still makers Knapp Lewer. We selected the parameters for these Stills to achieve a particular Spirit profile. This decison was made after lengthy research on Stills used by the distilleries producing our favourite Scottish Single Malts.
Our Brandy and Grape Spirit Still (rescued from the Riverland region in South Australia in 2006) is now installed at the Margaret River Distilling Company after being reassembled in Albany prior to delivery to the Grove. Our engineer calls this "his historical work of art". At 4,500 litres, this is our largest Still and will soon be producing Vodka, Gin, Grape Spirit and Brandy under the Margaret River Distilling Company banner using Margaret River's premium local produce.
A Real Gin Still
We have recently purchased a 600 litre copper pot Gin Still. This still has been delviered to our ablany distillery and plans are for this still to be refurbished and in operation soon. With this still we can achieve greater complexity of flavours as the botanicals will be suspended in the still during the final distillation. Following on from the recent rave reviews for our Distilled Dry Gin, this is sure to be a success.
