LIMEBURNERS

Whisky

From humble beginnings, to an undisputed World Class Whisky - Limeburners Premium Single Malt has become a world-renowned and multi-award-winning whisky, a timeless classic, and a great modern day Australian success story.

As the flagship brand of Great Southern Distilling Company, Limeburners is where the dream to distil the world’s best whisky began for its founder and master distiller, Cameron Syme.

In 2008, the first Limeburners Single Malt Whisky was transferred from barrel to bottle to the hands of Limeburners consumers for the first time, immediately picking up a bronze medal at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition in London.

Since then, the awards and recognition for Limeburners has continued to flow every year.

Limeburners Darkest Winter - "Best Whisky in the Southern Hemisphere"

Great Southern

Distilling Company

The home of Limeburners Whisky was founded in 2004 and was the very first distillery to legally make Single Malt Whisky in Western Australia.

Located on the edge of Princess Royal Harbour, Great Southern Distilling Company leverages Albany’s pristine water, pure air, abundance of local produce and cool marine climate.

What’s in the name?

Just a short distance from the Albany distillery lies the National Heritage listed Limeburners point where Convicts were once sent to create kilns to burn limestone to make lime for the building industry.

Their 7 day process is the same time we dedicated to making each barrel of whisky, and is a connection with Albany’s convict past.
